A native of Moscow, Russia, Dmitri Vorobiev is an associate professor of piano in the School of Music. He first came to international attention after winning the Casagrande International Piano Competition in Italy in 1994, followed by performances at the Festival of Two Worlds in Spoleto and numerous recitals throughout Italy. Previously, he was on the faculty at the University of Northern Iowa; Vivave International Music Festival; International Music Academy in Pilsen, Czech Republic; and the Cambridge International String Academy in Cambridge, England.
"It is important for me that students always crave to improve, always search for new ways to express their personalities through piano playing, always look for inspiration in all forms of art, not just music. My main challenge is making sure I offer everything I can for students to be successful throughout their careers. My biggest joy is watching each of them become an artist." ~ DMITRI VOROBIEV
